A creative brief your designer can actually use

Search for "AI creative brief generator" and you'll find plenty of tools that fill a form with adjectives: bold, modern, approachable, premium. A designer can't shoot from adjectives. A useful brief tells them who the work is for, what that person believes now, what they should believe afterwards, and the visual and verbal rules that make the brand recognisable.

Brandium is an AI brand strategy desk from FIA Labs. Its Build mode writes the brand system first, then hands the designer a brief built on it.

What makes a brief usable

Designers and art directors tend to ask the same five questions of any brief:

  1. Who is it for, specifically? Not "millennials", but a person in a situation.
  2. What's the single thing to communicate? One. Not five.
  3. Why should they believe it? Proof, not claims.
  4. What are the codes? Colour, type, image style, voice, and the things this brand never does.
  5. What exactly are the deliverables? Formats, sizes and deadlines.

A brief that answers these can be shot from. One that doesn't will come back as three rounds of revisions.

How Brandium builds the brief

Brandium works in a fixed order: psychology, then world, then campaign, then maths.

Psychology first. Before any visual, Brandium asks what is actually going on with the buyer. It separates what you observed from what you assume. If you say "We're getting traffic, but people aren't buying. I think our ads are wrong", the first sentence is an observation and the second is an assumption. Brandium doesn't accept the assumption because it was said.

Then the world. Build writes the brand system: positioning, codes, name, look and offer.

Then the brief. From that system, Build gives your designer a brief they can shoot and set type from.

Then the visuals. Build can make stills and a short reel from those codes. It can mock a landing or offer page live on the desk, and give you a Grok Build prompt if you want to ship that page elsewhere.

An example on the desk

"Position this ceramics line for gift and house. I need a brief my designer can shoot from, and a mock of the offer page."

You leave with a world, codes, a designer brief and a mock. Not a hosted live site.

What the brief looks like

Here is the shape of a Build brief, using a fictional ceramics line:

BRIEF: Hearth ceramics, gift and house
Audience: Someone buying a considered gift for a host, who wants
it to look chosen, not grabbed.
Single message: Made slowly, to be used daily.
Proof: Hand-thrown; each piece signed; dishwasher-safe glaze.
Positioning: For people who give objects, not vouchers. Against
mass homewares that look the same in every house.
Codes:
Colour Oat, iron, one accent (kiln blue). No white backgrounds.
Type Humanist serif for headlines; never all caps.
Image Natural window light; hands in frame; table, not studio.
Voice Plain, warm, specific. No "elevate", no "curated".
Never Stacked product grids; discount badges.
Offer: Gift set of two cups, wrapped, with a maker's card.
               Price: [blank, not supplied]
Deliverables: 6 stills (4:5, 1:1) · 1 reel (15s, 9:16) · offer-page mock

Note the price line. It was not supplied, so it stays blank.

What Brandium will not do

  • It won't invent a category, a customer, or a number you didn't give it.
  • It won't replace a designer when the work needs craft in the file.
  • It won't host or publish your website.
  • Nothing posts, nothing goes live, nothing spends.

Missing numbers stay blank. It won't invent a price, an LTV or a CAC.

Images and video on the desk

You can create images and video from your own prompt in any mode. Brand jobs (Frames, Moodboard, Mock-ups and Mood reel) need a locked brand code from Build, so the visuals follow the system rather than drifting from it.

  • Create image: choose the shape, how many, and the resolution. Add up to five reference images.
  • Create video: up to 15 seconds, with a start image, an end image and references.
  • A standard image is about 6 to 8 credits. A 6-second 720p clip is about 118 credits, or about 67 at 480p. You're charged when something comes back.
